Spiritual Valency: The Light and Chemistry Within Us

August 15, 2024 By Valiant Angel

Discovering the Divine Blueprint Within Our Everyday Lives

Valency is foundational in the intricate world of chemistry. It defines how elements interact to form the compounds that shape our material reality. But what if this concept extended beyond the physical realm? Could spiritual valency—the intrinsic qualities within us—be the key to understanding how we interact, grow, and connect on a deeper level?

This idea resonates with spiritual traditions, particularly the teachings of the Great Mother. Her wisdom draws profound analogies between the valencies of elements and the spiritual qualities that define human beings. This post explores how spiritual valency illuminates our path to self-realisation and helps clarify the nature of good and evil in our lives.

The Concept of Valency: From Chemistry to Spiritual Valency

Let’s revisit valency in its original context—chemistry. Valency measures an element's ability to bond with others. For example, carbon, with a valency of four, forms compounds essential to organic chemistry. Hydrogen, with a valency of one, creates the simplest of bonds. The periodic table, with its organised layout, serves as a blueprint for understanding the material world.

Now, let’s transfer this concept to the spiritual realm. According to the Great Mother's teachings, valency also describes the fundamental qualities that define human beings. Like elements with specific valencies dictating their behaviour, humans possess intrinsic spiritual qualities—ten in total—that guide their moral and spiritual conduct.

These qualities, or spiritual valencies, are not external rules imposed upon us but inherent aspects of our being. When honoured, these valencies help us maintain balance within ourselves and harmony with the world.

The Ten Commandments, for example, can be viewed as a reflection of these spiritual valencies at a gross level. They served as external guidelines when humanity’s consciousness was less introspective. However, as human awareness evolves, we are called to understand these valencies more subtly and intrinsically, resonating with the most profound aspects of our being.

Consider compassion as a spiritual valency. Just as hydrogen naturally seeks bonds, compassion draws us toward others in acts of kindness and empathy. Similarly, humility, another valency, stabilises relationships like carbon’s central role in organic chemistry. When awakened, these qualities enable us to live in alignment with our highest nature.

Self-Realisation: Awakening the Inner Light

Modern society increasingly replaces blind faith with its lean towards scepticism. Spiritual teachings must evolve to meet modern minds and remain relevant. The Great Mother emphasises self-realisation—awakening the light within—as the key to understanding and embodying spiritual valencies.

Self-realisation centres on Kundalini, a divine energy residing at the base of the spine. When awakened, Kundalini rises through the chakras (energy centres), purifying them and illuminating the path to enlightenment. This awakened inner light enables us to see ourselves, recognise our strengths and flaws, and align with our spiritual valencies.

This process transcends intellectual understanding. It’s a lived experience that transforms individuals into their own spiritual guides. No longer relying on external doctrines, they gain the clarity and wisdom to navigate life authentically and purposefully.

The spiritual traditions of the world echo this principle. In Christianity, resurrection symbolises physical rebirth and the awakening of the inner Christ—the divine light within. Similarly, the Prophet Muhammad spoke of a time when “your hands will speak,” alluding to a state of spiritual awareness where actions flow from divine guidance. Across traditions, the message is clear: true enlightenment is an inner awakening.

The Nature of Evil: A Product of Choices and Conditioning

While spiritual valencies guide us toward the light, the nature of evil presents a profound challenge. According to the Great Mother, evil arises from the misuse of freedom—a gift bestowed upon humanity. This freedom enables us to choose our path but comes with the responsibility to align our choices with our intrinsic valencies.

Evil is not an external force imposed upon us. Instead, it stems from choices made without spiritual awareness. Conditioning, ego, and ignorance often lead us to prioritise lower desires over higher principles. Over time, these choices create cycles of negativity that impact individuals, families, and even entire societies.

Consider how collective conditioning perpetuates harmful patterns. Racism, for example, reflects a collective failure to honour the spiritual valency of collectivity—the innate ability to see all humanity as one family. Similarly, greed arises when we lose touch with the valency of generosity, prioritising material accumulation over spiritual abundance.

Yet, despite its pervasive influence, evil is ultimately a shadow—an absence of light. When the light of self-realisation awakens within us, it dispels ignorance and aligns our choices with our spiritual valencies. This light transforms our understanding of good and evil, shifting the focus from fear and punishment to love and enlightenment.

The Universal Call to Spiritual Valency

The teachings of the Great Mother offer a profound and holistic understanding of humanity by bridging the natural and spiritual realms. Her analogy of valency provides a framework for understanding our intrinsic qualities and the importance of awakening to them.

In a world often clouded by confusion and darkness, the call to awaken our inner light and align with spiritual valencies is more relevant than ever. Ancient teachings, reinterpreted for contemporary minds, serve as guiding stars on this journey toward spiritual fulfilment and collective enlightenment.

This call is universal. Whether expressed through the Ten Commandments, the teachings of prophets, or the insights of poets like William Blake, the message remains the same: true enlightenment comes from within. As we awaken to our true nature, we transform ourselves and inspire others to embark on their own journeys.

Conclusion: Embracing the Light Within

Self-realisation is an ongoing process of aligning with the light within, a continuous journey of discovering and embodying our true essence. By awakening our inner light, we transform ourselves and contribute to humanity's collective enlightenment.

Just as elements create harmony through their valencies, we, too, can cultivate balance and light by embodying our spiritual valencies. Doing so fulfils our highest potential, dispelling ignorance and radiating the glow of self-realised souls.

As you reflect on these ideas, consider your own spiritual valencies. How do they guide your actions and relationships? What choices can you make today to align more deeply with your intrinsic qualities?

This journey, while deeply personal, is also universal. Guided by the light within and supported by the wisdom of prophets and great souls, we create a future where light prevails, love guides our actions, and our divine potential is fully realised.

Let us embrace the light within, honour our spiritual valencies, and contribute to a world of balance, harmony, and collective enlightenment.

Peace and blessings to all.

#Note: This blog post, "Valency and Light: The Spiritual Chemistry Within Us," explores the connection between valency in chemistry and its application to spiritual and moral dimensions. It emphasises the importance of self-realisation and the nature of evil as shaped by our choices. The post is inspired by the teachings of The Great Mother from her Public Program, Cambridge (England), 3 August 1984. It provides a comprehensive exploration of these themes within the framework of spiritual enlightenment.

About Valiant Angel

Born into the faith of Christ, Val walked with an unwavering love for the Lord and reverence for God Almighty. In his twenties, a near-fatal car crash became a sacred turning point—not to shake his faith but to strengthen it, revealing depths he had yet to explore. Mother Mary, ever present in his devotion, seemed absent from the Holy Trinity—a mystery that inspired him to seek further.

In his journey through other faiths, a truth unfolded: all religions are branches of the same eternal tree. Their roots are love, their essence unity, though human hands have often sown division where harmony was intended.

Val now sees humanity standing at the edge of transformation—a collective leap of evolution. To rise, one must first ground—rooting in the soil of 4D reality, where kundalini awakens the silent spirit. Beyond this lies the luminous promise of 5D, awaiting those who can sustain its divine frequency.

This is not a departure but a return—to love, to wholeness, to the infinite vastness of being:

Awaken the light,
Beyond thought, pure truth remains,
Rise to endless sky.
