Checking In
At the start of your meditation, take a moment to "check in" with the state of your nadis. Are there any imbalances? If so, initiate these balancing techniques to restore harmony.
Balancing the Left Side

Technique – Earth Element
Your Ida Nadi responds and clears to the frequency of Mother Earth. And Mother Earth is just waiting to heal and nourish us if we are open to receive her. We invite you to connect with her as much as possible.
A specific steps to clear your ida nadi by Mother Earth are as follows:
- Rest your left hand on your lap, palm facing upward towards the sky.
- Place your right hand on the earth (or, if seated on a chair, with the palm facing down towards the ground).
- From your heart, ask: "Mother Kundalini, please pass all the heaviness of my Ida Nadi into the earth element."
Technique – Light Element
Your Ida Nadi also responds to light. The ida nadi when out of balance can get carry heavy, lethargic energy. Let the light of 3 candles warm these imbalances so the joy of life can be restored in your emotions.
The steps to using 3-candles for the Ida Nadi are as follows:
- sit on the floor cross-legged, if sitting on a chair position the candles at hip height.
- Use candles that provide good-sized flames. We cut long candles in half and melt them on flat small dishes. The light off tea candles are not sufficient.
- Place the first candle behind your left hip area, second candle in front at your left hip,
- With the third candle run it up and down the left side of the body along the nadi, crossing at centre forehead to around the right hand side of the head. Do this a few times.
- Then, place this third candle just in front of your left hand so that your fingertips are towards the candle flame.
- meditate as normal as described all the steps.
Balancing the Right Side

Technique – Aether Element
The aether is the fifth element, often overlooked or misunderstood. It is the most subtle of all the elements and the medium through which electromagnetic fields and quantum energies pass. This is why it holds immense power in your meditation practice.
To clear your right side:
- Rest your right hand on your lap, palm facing upward towards the sky.
- Bend your left arm at the elbow, and stretch your left hand upward toward the sky.
- From your heart, ask: "Mother Kundalini, please release all heat from my Pingala Nadi into the aether."
Technique – Ice/Water Element
After the aether technique, if you still find it hard to clear the pinagla nadi, then use an ice pack for an additional 'boost'.
The liver is our 'seat' of attention. If it very common for this organ to be over heated with the busy lives we lead. physcially, mentally and emotionally. If the liver becomes overheated, it manifests by heating up our whole pingala nadi, making it a challenge to go into 'thoughtless awareness' - the silence.
For people with hot livers, use of an ice pack can be absolutely transforming to the depth of your meditations.
How to make an ice pack
- handful of Ice cubes
- plus small, waterproof, disposable bag - use a fresh one each time
- wrap it in a cloth so it does not burn
How to use Ice Pack
- place it on your liver area for 5-15 minutes
- for convenience, you can strapped it in position by using a cloth sash
- You can use this treatment as you go about your day, especially at the start of your evening meditation.
- Note: for digestive reasons, we recommend to avoid using ice n 45 minutes before eating. And do not start the treatment until 2 hours after eating.
