Understanding The Nadis

What is a Nadi?

Understanding The Nadis: In Sanskrit, "nadi" means energy channel. Nadis are the pathways within your subtle system that allow energy to flow through you. The Kundalini uses these channels to move and awaken your inner being.

Think of them as rivers of divine love designed to fill every atom of your being with blissful vibrations.

There are three main nadis: left, right, and centre.

By working with Kundalini through pure desire and focused attention, you can balance these channels, harmonise your energy flow, and elevate your consciousness from 3D to 4D and eventually into 5D.

Key qualities of the nadis

Left - Ida Nadi
  • Past
  • Emotions/Feelings
  • Desire
  • Feminine (moon energy)
Right - Pingala Nadi
  • Future
  • Intellect/Logic
  • Action
  • Masculine (sun energy)
 Centre - Sushumna Nadi
  • Present
  • Equipoise
  • Detached Dynamism
  • Union of feminine & masculine

The nadis are vital in balancing emotions, moods, and physical health. They also anchor the chakras. Each primary chakra aligns with the central channel but has sub-chakras on the left and right channels, ensuring a balanced energy flow.

When Kundalini rises through the central channel, it nourishes each chakra and connects with the all-pervading divine energy at the crown (Sahasrara). This sacred energy flows back into the nadis, revitalising the subtle system in a split second. Through this direct experience, understanding the nadis moves beyond the conceptual realm and into the tangible.

Ida Nadi

The Ida Nadi begins at the Mooladhara chakra, ascends along the left side, crosses at the Agnya chakra, and ends in the superego area of the brain.

This channel represents our pure desire to "know thy self", guiding us from inner conflict to balance and harmony.

Aligning with these pure desires elevates us to higher emotions like joy, love, and compassion.

If Ida is blocked, we may become trapped in thinking about the past, become prone to being overly emotional, or feel weighed down with feelings of heaviness.

Kundalini's awakening and regular meditation clear these obstructions and restore our connection to the present moment and our true selves.

Pingala Nadi

Starting at the Swadisthan chakra, the Pingala Nadi ascends along the right side, crossing at the Agnya and ending in the ego area of the brain.

This channel brings desire into action and, when aligned with higher intentions, becomes an expression of creativity and dynamic expression.

However, if desires remain anchored in 3D, the Pingala Nadi may become overworked, leading to physical exhaustion, mental strain, or agitation.

An awakened Kundalini allows you to balance dynamic participation with peaceful witnessing, bringing joy into your pursuits.

Sushumna Nadi

The central channel, or Sushumna Nadi, begins at the sacrum bone, where Kundalini resides, and ascends to the Sahasrara chakra.

This channel is essential for spiritual growth. When we operate within the Sushumna, we approach the doorway to 5D and experience the joy and beauty of our spiritual qualities.

We guide Kundalini up the Sushumna through meditation, awakening the Sahasrara and stepping beyond the mind into reality.

This journey connects us to the living fabric of the universe, allowing divine qualities to emerge, creating peace, joy, and love within.
